Most people don’t go looking for a lawyer until something has already gone wrong. A car crash on the Schuylkill, a custody dispute, a contract that fell apart, a call from a detective. That’s usually the moment when they have the least time and the most questions.
Attorneys Times was built for that moment. We research law firms in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania, then present what we find in plain English, so readers can compare their options and walk into a first consultation knowing what to ask.
What You’ll Find Here
- Lawyer roundups by practice area. Criminal defense, personal injury, car accidents, medical malpractice, divorce, family law, real estate, estate planning, intellectual property, contracts and more.
- Contact details you can use. Every featured firm is listed with its office address and phone number, checked before publication.
- Pennsylvania law explained. Filing deadlines, insurance rules, inheritance tax, custody factors and court procedures, written for people without a law degree.
- Practical checklists. What to bring to a consultation, questions to ask about fees, and the mistakes that most often weaken a case.
- Short FAQs. Direct answers to the questions people type into search when they’re trying to make sense of a legal problem.
How We Choose the Firms We Feature
We don’t rank lawyers on a hunch. Before a firm appears in our coverage, we look at:
- Its standing with the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, including active license status
- Independent peer rankings, such as Best Law Firms, Best Lawyers, Chambers and Martindale-Hubbell ratings
- Published verdicts, settlements and courtroom experience in the practice area
- Client feedback patterns across public review platforms
- How much of the firm’s work is actually focused on the topic at hand
We also try to give readers range. A single list might include a national firm, a small boutique and a neighborhood practice, because the right lawyer for a corporate dispute is rarely the right lawyer for a first-time DUI.
Advertising does not buy a place in our rankings. When we can’t verify a claim, we leave it out.
Our Editorial Standards
Legal information goes out of date quickly. Firms move offices, phone numbers change, and laws are amended. We review our articles regularly and update them when we spot a change. If you notice something that’s no longer accurate, please tell us and we’ll check it.
We also write for real people. That means short paragraphs, clear headings, bullet points for key facts, and no unexplained legal jargon.
Who We Write For
Our readers include accident victims, parents, small business owners, homeowners, inventors and families planning for the future. Some are dealing with an emergency. Others are planning ahead. Either way, we want them to leave better informed than when they arrived.
